Innovations specific to a business depend on the size of the business. An innovation that yields a billion dollars in sales in an organization whose annual revenue is $15 billion would be considered a breakthrough. But in that same organization an innovation generating $200,000 would not meet the requirements. However, an innovation that yields $100,000 in an organization whose annual revenue is $250,000 would certainly be a breakthrough. Organizational breakthroughs are really in the eyes of management but must be appraised realistically.
